Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
Wattreach is a personal journal about electric-vehicle travel. This page explains what data the site collects, the tools that collect it, and how you can opt out. Questions go to hello@wattreach.com.
Who runs this site
Wattreach (wattreach.com) is an independent personal site. It is not affiliated with, and shares no data with, any law practice or law-firm client. The site is hosted on Cloudflare.
Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel
When enabled, Wattreach uses the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API to measure how visitors arrive from Facebook and Instagram and which pages and links they engage with. This helps us understand which content is worth making more of, and lets us run better-targeted posts and ads.
The pixel and Conversions API may process:
- Your IP address and browser user-agent string.
- The page URL you are viewing and the referring page.
-
Meta browser cookies (
_fbpand, if you arrived from a Facebook ad,_fbc). - Event signals such as a page view, scrolling most of a page, time on page, viewing a key page, and clicking an outbound referral, affiliate, follow, or support link.
These signals are sent to Meta Platforms, Inc. and are governed by Meta's Privacy Policy. We do not upload email addresses, names, or phone numbers to Meta from this site. Some events are also sent from our server (the Conversions API) so that measurement still works when a browser blocks the pixel; both copies carry a shared event ID so Meta counts each action once.
Cloudflare provides hosting and aggregate, privacy-respecting traffic analytics that do not use cookies to track you across sites.
Affiliate and referral links
Some links on Wattreach are affiliate or referral links. Amazon links use
our Amazon Associates tag (wattreach-20), and our
branded referral links (for partners like Rivian, Tesla, Starlink, and
others) forward to those partners' sign-up pages. If you buy or sign up
through one, we may earn a commission or referral credit at no extra cost
to you. Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. Clicking one of these links may register
an event with Meta as described above, and the destination site applies its
own privacy policy once you arrive there.
The contact form
If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email, and message you submit so we can reply. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam, and messages are delivered to our inbox by email. We do not sell or share this information, and we use it only to respond to you.
Cookies
The site itself uses a small amount of local storage for conveniences like
remembering checklist progress. When the Meta Pixel is enabled, it sets the
_fbp and _fbc cookies described above. You can
clear or block cookies in your browser at any time.
How to opt out
- Adjust your Facebook and Instagram ad settings in Meta Accounts Center to limit ad personalization.
- Use a browser that blocks third-party trackers, a content blocker, or your browser's privacy settings to block the pixel.
- Clear cookies and local storage in your browser.
Children
Wattreach is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site grows. The date at the top reflects the most recent change. For anything else, email hello@wattreach.com.
