Chevrolet Silverado EV towing range: Airstream planning math
The Silverado EV is the range-pack benchmark. It should be treated as a big-battery planning case until we have Wattreach segment data behind it.
- Evidence
- Official specs plus Wattreach trailer math
- Pack basis
- 205 kWh Max Range planning estimate
- Airstream estimate
- 205 mi full pack
What we can say with confidence.
Wattreach has not measured a Silverado EV towing the Airstream charge-to-charge yet. This page uses the measured Airstream efficiency from the R1T and applies it to GM pack planning assumptions.
- Official range:Trim-dependent, with Max Range positioned as the long-distance pack
- Official tow rating:Up to 12,500 lb on selected Extended Range trims in the 2026 Chevy trailering chart

Estimate this pack's towing range.
This is a planning estimate, not a measured Silverado EV tow ledger. The Silverado EV is a physically larger truck with a less aerodynamic shape and a less efficient motor and drivetrain than our R1T, so towing the same 23-foot Airstream it gives up real efficiency: we plan it at 1.00 mi/kWh, below the 1.19 mi/kWh our R1T measures across 4,405 towing miles. That estimate, multiplied by this truck's pack basis, is the math below.
205 kWh x 1.00 mi/kWh (truck-adjusted).
A realistic fast-charge hop before wind, grade, and arrival buffer.
Useful advantages.
- Large battery options should help towing leg spacing
- Available Super Cruise towing is a real highway differentiator
- Midgate and tailgate flexibility are unusually strong truck features
Range planning cautions.
- Tow rating changes by trim and battery
- Max Range does not automatically mean max tow rating
- We need first-party Wattreach tow segments before calling it measured
