Stops, in order

The day

  1. scenic

    Colorado National Monument

23-mile Rim Rock Drive, best done with the rig dropped at the campground if you want the full loop. Quick overlook stop works otherwise.

    Crescent Junction RAN

    Descends this leg −1,350 ft

    Free RAN bridge charge mid-route.

  3. photo

    Arches NP, Park Avenue Viewpoint

First overlook past the visitor center. Vertical walls, golden-hour light. Arches NP requires a timed-entry reservation Apr–Oct.

  4. photo

    Arches NP, Balanced Rock

Loop trail, 0.3 mi. The classic Utah postcard.

  5. sleep

    Sun Outdoors Moab Downtown

    Descends this leg −1,000 ft

Walk to dinner in town. Rest before tomorrow's Canyonlands sunrise.

Charging plan

Where the electrons come from

  • RAN charge Rivian Adventure Network

    Crescent Junction RAN

Free for this trip. At the I-70/US-191 split, the most reliable charger between Grand Junction and Moab.

  • Tesla

    Moab Supercharger (paid backup)

No RAN in Moab. Crescent Junction RAN plus the Sun Outdoors 50A should cover the day, so treat this as optional, only if the campground L2 underperforms.
