The day

    Bryce, depart

    Roll out of Bryce and drop southwest toward I-15, trading the hoodoos for the Mojave's edge. Zion stays on the list for next time, today we aim straight for Valley of Fire.

    Red Canyon (Dixie National Forest)

    Drive-through red-rock canyon on US-89 south of Bryce. Pull out at the visitor center for a 15-min walk.

    St. George Supercharger

    Descends this leg −4,650 ft

    Lunch and a full charge on the I-15 descent out of Utah.

    Border-town top-off before the final drop to the park.

    Nevada's oldest state park, 40,000 acres of red Aztec sandstone, the Fire Wave, Atlatl Rock petroglyphs, and the Mouse's Tank road. Set up at camp, then chase the sunset on the rock.
